Congrats to all of our new yellow belts. This is just the beginning of your journey. You now have an understanding of the fundamentals of Krav Maga. I want you to know that it isn’t always enough to just have an understanding of a basic concept. It’s important to master these skills as well. In my experience, I have always felt that it is important to attend Level 1 class. You will often find Coach Anthony Rojo or Jesse taking a Level 1 class. I want to master my punches, kick, and inside defense. My goal is to fight and train like Coach James, Coach Brad, and Coach Zvi. But I can’t just do that by being complacent in Level 2 and Level 3 classes. [Read More…]

As you complete your yellow belt, things start to change. Movements are done faster and stronger. [Read More…]

During class today, Jason brought up a good point. As you start advancing through your belts, your fighting attitude needs to change. I know a lot of people who train have never been in a fight or defended themselves before and hopefully you will never have to. But for those who have been in a fight understand the feeling and concept behind it. To have intent means to believe that you will be harder and stronger than your opponent. This feeling of intent needs to be taught to those who have neve [Read More…]

Any belt test is not an easy task. You go through 2-3 hours of nonstop work. The way most belt tests occur is by going through all the techniques and repeating each technique 4-5 times so that the instructor can evaluate your performance. Most people think you need to be perfect when doing your techniques at a belt test. In a perfect world, you [Read More…]
